01
Risk assessment
Every activity is assessed in advance for physical, environmental, and psychological risk. Activities are designed to be challenging but proportionate to participant capability.
02
Facilitator qualifications
Facilitators hold current First Aid and CPR certification. Remote-area first aid, mental health first aid, and Working with Children Checks are held where the role and setting require them.
03
Communications
Forge maintains satellite communications (PLB / satellite messenger) on every remote intake, with documented check-in protocols and a primary base contact.
04
Emergency response
An Emergency Action Plan accompanies every intake, covering injury, illness, fire, severe weather, missing persons, and evacuation. Facilitators rehearse the plan before each intake.
05
Medical
Comprehensive first aid kits are carried at all times. Participant medical disclosures are reviewed in advance and held confidentially with the lead facilitator.
06
Insurance
Forge maintains public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Personal travel and ambulance cover remain the participant's responsibility.
07
Incident reporting
All incidents and near-misses are documented and reviewed to improve future intakes. Serious incidents are reported to relevant authorities and insurers as required by law.
08
Stop-work authority
Any participant or facilitator may halt an activity at any time if they identify a safety concern.
